THE WATERFRONT EMPRESS
he Waterfront Empress
And reigns by the Seine
With an air quite aplomb but
Demi mondaine.
Her scepters a bone
She stole off a dog
Her robe is a sack
Much too large
For a Hog
She issues her bulls
In a style vitriolic
And gobbles her fees
With a talon bucolic
She speaks in a bray
Not so cultured but loud
Which leaves her servitors
With eardrums quite
Plowed
The lady has charm
In a violent way
Her mandates alarm
But bolster her sway
And if some dark nightly
you fall into her sphere
Speak to her gently
And buy her her beer
For she rather would hang you
Than sigh at your face
And probably bang you
With banished disgrace
The Waterfront Empress
And reigns by the Seine
With an air quite aplomb but
Demi mondaine.
