Ron Hubbard, “is the highest kind of excitement.” Nor would that excitement ever dim, and therein lay the spirit behind all LRH creativity -- whether film, music, photography, prose, verse or lyrics. Yet, in what amounted to an eloquent statement of his work, there is also “Thank You For Listening.”
The final selection from The Road to Freedom, “Thank You For Listening” features a rare a cappella recording of what Ron described as his musical L’Envoi, i.e., his concluding stanza in dedication to listeners. Posthumously discovered on a demonstration cassette, the song was remixed and placed to music to serve as the album’s closing selection. Given what these lyrics express, however, “Thank You For Listening” would seem to serve as a fitting L’Envoi for all he presented as a poet and lyricist.
